Five years of supervisory experience in the operation and maintenance of air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing systems and/or mobile equipment, building maintenance or construction are required. Must be able to work a permanent or rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment. Recruitment Notes The Facilities Maintenance Superintendent oversees the Terminal Maintenance group and manages the after-hours trade shops. As the off-shift duty manager, the Superintendent plays a critical role in the 24/7 operations of Miami International Airport’s facilities. The position includes conducting periodic inspections of airport facilities to assess the need for repairs and improvements, supervising Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) maintenance staff, and overseeing the maintenance of electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, and terminal restrooms. The Superintendent also assigns work, determines work priorities, and establishes the most efficient and cost-effective methods for task completion. Furthermore, this role involves defining the scope of work for processing work orders and coordinating materials and workforce across Maintenance shops, airport tenants, and other divisions, particularly for transport equipment and related contracts.
