OVERVIEW
Maintenance Manager A large industrial facility based in Medley, FL, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee its mechanical and electrical maintenance operations. This full-time, salaried position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for ensuring efficient operation, long-term asset reliability, and strategic improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a leader and advocate for safety initiatives across all maintenance teams, fostering a culture of health, safety, and compliance. Direct the maintenance department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient mechanical and electrical functions. Manage and oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Guide the planning and implementation of capital projects and maintenance improvements, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. Monitor, review, and enhance performance and reliability of all plant assets, identifying areas for process optimization and cost control. Supervise and coach maintenance supervisors and technicians, promoting skill development and cross-training within the team. Lead budget preparation, tracking, and reporting for both maintenance and capital expenditures, ensuring cost-effective practices. Coordinate external contractors, including oversight of outsourced mobile equipment maintenance agreements. Perform regular inspections of plant systems and equipment to assess mechanical and electrical health, safety compliance, and operational effectiveness. Review departmental performance against industry benchmarks, safety regulations, and internal standards, and implement corrective actions where needed. Advise team leads and supervisors on labor-related topics, including employee relations, training schedules, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline required; advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Engineering or Business) preferred. 7-10 years of experience managing maintenance teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment; mining background is a plus. Strong leadership experience overseeing complex electrical systems, including high-voltage power distribution, transformers, motor controls, motors of various sizes, large-scale generators, PLCs, and automation/control software. Solid project management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Skilled in financial oversight, with experience in budget management and cost optimization strategies. Proficient in interpreting technical schematics, diagrams, and system control logic (including ladder logic). Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to clearly convey technical information and foster team collaboration. Demonstrated organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to resolve technical challenges and improve processes. Professionalism and interpersonal skills to maintain constructive working relationships and a positive team culture.
