Job Description
SUMMARY Will assist in the supervision of maintenance technicians and support staff. Oversee the daily work and performance of these employees to achieve the department and company objectives. Will need to multi-task while possessing industrial maintenance experience. That experience will include Electrical, Electronics, PLC, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Conveyor Systems. Supervise the Plant Facilities with the assistance of the department’s Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
include the following:
- Supervise the work of the maintenance team to assure efficient and effective repairs on a timely basis.
- Evaluate schematics and blueprints in order to determine operation and repair of machinery.
- Responsible for promoting, supporting and enforcing the elements of
ISO 9001
as they apply to the maintenance department.
- Administer periodic maintenance and report results to management. Notify them about defects and inconsistencies, if any.
- Maintain strict adherence to company and safety policies and procedures.
- Interface with the Purchasing Department to source and obtain repair parts.
- Interact with all departments and maintain services for the plant.
- Reports any discrepancies and/or issues, including violations of company policy to Management.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Person is responsible for supervising all the employees in the Maintenance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and working knowledge of industrial control systems including PLC-based controls, digital controls, analog controls and associated mechanical systems. This should be part of broad-based maintenance and repair experience in a mid-sized manufacturing environment. EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING
- “On-The-Job” training is provided, sufficiently enough (as determined by the initial level of education and/or experience) to teach the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

- Must be completed within the first three months of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Able to solve practical problems. Deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
