The Manager Operations, Weekend Shift covers operational and customer responsibilities through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This position is the primary focal point for the site during this period and drives safe and regulatory compliant delivery of aircraft maintenance, alongside customer facing responsibility through updates, commercial liaison (billing/invoicing) and escalation.
Responsible for assigned aircraft maintenance employees and the daily and overall operations of the aircraft maintenance department, such as technical performance, safety, schedules, personnel, quality, and the performance of all aircraft maintenance activities for multiple line maintenance site(s).
Develop annual Aircraft maintenance department budget including workforce requirements and approve payment of vendors’ or suppliers’ invoices
Achieve monthly financial objectives for Aircraft maintenance department i.e., labor margin, capital expenditures, and budgeted operating expenses
Ensure all maintenance performed on aircraft, engines, avionics, and aircraft components meet FAA regulations, as well as customer quality expectations
Maintain compliance with all OSHA Health & Safety guidelines, as well as all Federal, State, and local environmental laws
Interface with customer representatives, coordinate customer communication activities and resolve any questions or disputes on customer invoiced for performed maintenance
Determine staff training needs to maintain work force qualifications and productivity
Ensure proper tooling and equipment is available to support operational requirements
Actively support and integrate continuous improvement activities into program procedures and processes
Collect and analyze service and maintenance data to identify trends and ensure margin performance is achieved
Assist in the development of strategic plans to support new programs and capabilities based on analysis of market trends.
Provide daily updates for internal/external stakeholders on progress, constraints and issues
How to thrive in this role?
Have 5 years experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility environment with at least 1 year supervisory experience. (
5 years minimum of Managerial experience is preferred
Possess a Bachelors degree in related area or equivalent years of experience
Leadership experience in a high volume, fast paced MRO setting
Business Aviation Experience through MRO or aircraft management activities
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
Experience working directly with customers, customer representatives and Directors of Maintenance
Have working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application
Have accounting and budgeting principals acumen necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs
Be familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Possess strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to forecast labor and skill requirements
Have excellent presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of management
Demonstrate effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
Have research and analytical skills necessary to collect, analyze, and interpret survey data, customer behaviors, and general trends within the applicable aircraft market
Possess proficient writing and computer skills
