Exempt Essential Function:
Participates in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS), as required. Completes Initial Level 2 SMS Training and maintain currency as outlined in the SMS Manual, Chapter 4. Takes action to ensure that personnel are trained and qualified to perform duties as assigned. Supervises and directs all maintenance functions regarding line aircraft. Directs ground equipment quantity needs and maintenance requirements. This will be coordinated with the Maintenance Planning Manager Supervises and reviews the work of aircraft technicians and providers. Locates, reviews qualifications, and contracts with maintenance providers to support the organization in an assigned region. Recruits, hires, and develops technicians to maintain aircraft in the region. Ensures tooling, equipment, and publications are available to accomplish assigned tasks. Monitors staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate maintenance coverage and operational efficiency. Reviews overtime and initiate schedule changes as required. Reviews paperwork generated by Maintenance for accuracy and completeness. Ensures Company policies are followed, and all safety concerns are addressed. Coordinates maintenance activity as required with other departments or providers. Reviews operational delays and implements changes that will minimize delays and increase efficiency. Serves as Chairperson and voting member of National Airlines’ ETOPS Review Board. Monitors policies, regulations, and procedures for the purpose of ETOPS Establishes and modifies policies, procedures, instructions, and information to maintain the currency of the ETOPS program. Liaisons between departments for the resolution of ETOPS related duties Monitors revisions to the Configuration, Maintenance, and Procedures (CMP) manual and new Airworthiness Directives or Service Letters for ETOPS-required modifications, and coordinates with engineering and Maintenance Planning for modification implementation. Coordinates with Aircraft Records to ensure that ETOPS aircraft are maintained in ETOPS configuration per the applicable Illustrated Parts Catalog Coordinates with the Director of Quality to ensure that Maintenance program revisions meet ETOPS requirements for similar system maintenance. Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planning, and the DQC to ensure ETOPS requirements for similar system maintenance. Coordinates with the Powerplant Manager to help determine the cause of any in-flight shutdowns. Coordinates with ETOPS Review Board members and Manufacturers to resolve chronic discrepancies in ETOPS significant systems. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience, Abilities & Skills:
Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings. Have at least 3 years of experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service. Have at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the Company operates. Knowledge of FAA regulations Parts 65, 91, 121 Have at least 3 years of experience in maintaining large airplanes with an air carrier knowledge of FAA regulations. Have completed all initial and recurrent training required to ensure that they are qualified to perform their duties. Be accountable for ensuring their duties are performed safely and in compliance with applicable laws and National Airlines policy. Understand and comply with all regulations and polices.
