Responsibilities:

The role of the Maintenance Planner II is to collaborate with system operations control, materials department and various operational support teams to ensure the companies FAA approved Airbus Maintenance Program (AMP) requirements are planned and scheduled within their respective compliance periods. The Maintenance Planner II has the responsibility of ensuring maintenance manpower, workload, tooling and materials are available for the scheduled maintenance activities. Forecasts, plans, and schedules aircraft maintenance work performed by Spirit technicians and business partners, including maintenance program task cards and non-routine items. Prepares maintenance work orders and overall workload associated with line maintenance for current and next day. Has the ability to prepare, maintain, coordinate, and schedule all Line Maintenance Hangar visits. Has the ability to prepare and forecast the Heavy Maintenance Visits schedule for the fleet as well as handle pre-dock calls, inductions, and scheduled changes. Builds and updates a maintenance visit schedule of all tasks requiring extended ground time, specialized skills, time-controlled items, and hangar environment. Coordinate utilization of time-controlled components with Materials to ensure proper allocation of upcoming requirements and operational stock. Runs and maintains a 3-year forecast of Spirit’s fleet for all future maintenance needs. Coordinates with Engineering, Technical Support, Quality Control, and Materials for the accomplishment of new Service bulletins, Service Information Letters, and Airworthiness Directives. Works in coordination with Aircraft Dispatch, Routing, and Maintenance Control to place aircraft into capable maintenance cities and proper ground time, for the accomplishment of all aircraft maintenance requirements, within acceptable timelines. Maintains operational awareness and identifies maintenance opportunities by managing aircraft allocations. Supports Maintenance Control and System Operations during aircraft out of service events. Maintains the balance of aircraft utilization and maintenance tasks yield to ensure flexibility according to operational requirements. Ensures daily maintenance requirements are coordinated with other support departments including Tooling, Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, Maintenance Control, and Line Maintenance. Schedules and coordinates maintenance requirements with each maintenance city performing the work to ensure capability, man hours, parts, tools, environment, and ground time requirements are met for the completion of the assigned work. Audits completed work orders to ensure compliance of assigned tasks. Collaborates with MX Programs on any future enhancements and revisions to the Airbus Maintenance Program (AMP) to optimize opportunities, minimize cost, and reduce network restraints. Prepares, coordinates, and schedules new aircraft inductions into Spirit’s fleet. Provides daily turnover communication to fellow team members of crucial tasks and items of importance. Performs other duties as assigned by the Leadership team of Maintenance Planning. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Airline Operations, Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Planning, Statistics or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, forecasting or related discipline. Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects with a high degree of attention to detail. Must possess the ability to handle difficult situations whilst maintaining a calm demeanor. Able to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and holidays. Able to support and help maintain coverage during team members’ time off (vacation, bereavement, jury duty, sick, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Ability to extract, interpret, and present data. Ability to identify and resolve challenges. Strong analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to organize and prioritize. Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment, under minimal supervision. Highly adaptive, and able to work independently and as a team. Excellent collaboration skills. Ability to establish and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong desire to learn new businesses, tool-sets, and best practices. Highly adaptable to change.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of airline operations experience.

TRAX, SABRE

experience. Valid A&P Certificate. Maintenance Program and Aircraft Routing experience. Aircraft Heavy Maintenance Visit experience. Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems.
