Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY

Manages the mechanical, controls, and animation maintenance activities in area of responsibility for third shift (night shift). Assists with oversight of all routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities of all maintenance functions for the area of responsibility. Manages and leads supervisors on continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Oversees system and component design changes, directs the activities of outside vendors and construction for all attraction additions and/or modifications. Oversees, revises, and implements the preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure increased operational readiness and show quality. Manages and administers the annual inspection of all attractions in area of responsibility.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews with staff annual, preventative, and predictive maintenance plans to ensure the capital investment is kept in like new condition. Sets improvement goals for the department, gives direction to ensure goals are met, and communicates all goals to the team. Work is primarily for 3rd shift operation in area of responsibility.
  • Sets the priorities and oversees any modifications and/or engineering modifications to ensure timely completion of tasks. Analyzes operational performance of the attractions and manages priorities of maintenance activities.
  • Supervises and leads training and development of all direct reports in assigned area. Administers development plans on a regular basis and as required. Manages schedules and personnel records for direct reports. Ensures compliance to all Universal Orlando policies and procedures. Ensures safety is the top priority of assigned area.
  • Ensures operational throughput requirements are supported on a nightly basis. Coordinates work efforts with operational needs of the attractions, working directly with all affected departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.

guidelines as well as original manufacturer’s requirements

  • Assists with building and managing routine budget for responsible area to include all expenses needed to achieve goals. Monitors overtime for responsible area, ensuring only used when necessary. Assists with building capital and expense plans for responsible area as required.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • High school degree or GED is required
  • Technical school preferred
  • Associate degree in General Education or Technology preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • 7+ years theme park Maintenance is required.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience is required.
  • 2+ years assistant manager, ride and show experience is preferred;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • NAARSO level 1 certification is required
