Purpose:
Oversees service operations within the dealership toensure internal and external customer satisfaction. Growsprofitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expensecontrol. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages departmentpersonnel.
Responsibilities:
Schedules and assigns jobs and workareas to employees in the Service Department according to theirskills and knowledge Assists with the development and training ofservice personnel and may complete performance reviews of servicestaff Communicates, enforces, and monitors effective ServiceDepartment processes to ensure internal and external customersatisfaction Monitors service sales on a monthly basis to ensureachievement of budgeted sales and profit goals Participates in thedevelopment and execution of the Corporate Service Marketing PlanCoordinates customer clinics, field days and related promotionalevents Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior tocustomer billing Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, andvehicles are in good working order Manages recruiting, staffing andemployee development activities for employees reporting to thisposition Manages and coordinates training for all Service personnelMay assist the Corporate Service Manager in developing processesand procedures and to develop and follow an annual ServiceDepartment budget
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
3years’ experience in Service Department operations Ability to usestandard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office andinternet functions Ability to write and speak effectively toindividuals and groups Familiar with John Deere and competitiveproducts Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports Abilityto work extended hours and weekends Excellent customer serviceskills High School Diploma or equivalent experience
