Job Description As the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will support and assist the Director of Engineering by overseeing and directing the resort’s engineering and maintenance operations. With your solid technical expertise and leadership skills, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, maintain high guest satisfaction standards, and promote continuous improvement initiatives. - Execute the strategic vision and direction for the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort’s overall goals.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, while ensuring accountability.
- Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Assist in managing the Engineering Department’s budgets (R&M and HLP); capital reservations and expenses, P&L reviews, forecasting, and maintaining departmental ledger.
- Participate in the development and management of maintenance programs, procedures, and schedules to optimize departmental efficiency.
- Support the planning and execution of major capital improvement projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and areas for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate efficient and cost-effective maintenance operations.
- Responsible for the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and assigned to the Engineering Department.
- Ability to create documents using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in effectively using resort operations devices and software (HotSOS).
- Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and verbal communication.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals.
- Must be able to recognize and resolve potential hazards on the property.
- Expert ability to use hand, power, and battery tools, and other relevant tools required for the job.
- Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and within confined/restricted spaces.
- Interpret and address guest needs, interacting positively toward resolutions.
- Must adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Must always represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, attire, and professional behavior.

Qualifications - Must be detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in a resort or commercial environment.
- High school diploma required; a bachelor’s or associate degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. In addition, the individual must possess and adhere to the following core values:
