Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring all industrial equipment, fleet vehicles, and facility systems are properly maintained and repaired. This role combines technical knowledge with leadership, coordinating personnel, prioritizing work orders, enforcing safety protocols, and driving preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, schedule, and support maintenance technicians in completing mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks. Coordinate and monitor daily workflow, assigning work orders based on priority and technician capability. Oversee maintenance activities involving conveyors, screens, mobile/fixed plant equipment, and fleet vehicles. Manage inventory of maintenance parts, supplies; assist in vendor relationships. Lead root cause analysis efforts on recurring equipment failures and develop long-term corrective actions. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and preventive maintenance standards. Serve as the liaison between operations and maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and production disruptions. Support the onboarding, mentoring, and training of new maintenance team members. Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and inspection checklists for audit and compliance purposes. Collaborate with contractors for specialized work Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, energy use, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Fluent Spanish Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulic and powertrain systems Ability to lead a team, resolve conflict, and foster a safe, productive work environment Skilled in prioritizing tasks under pressure and responding to emergency repairs with sound judgment Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus Working knowledge of basic electrical and welding processes is preferred

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required Technical or vocational training in mechanical or industrial systems preferred Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Certificates & Licenses:

Valid Driver’s License required Class A CDL preferred Forklift and/or heavy equipment certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and move up to 50-75 pounds Able to work in varied environments, including tight spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor conditions Requires full range of motion (walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching)

Work Environment:

Industrial plant setting with exposure to loud noise, machinery, dust, heat, and weather Strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures required
