Marine Service & Operations Manager Southeastern Marine Power, LLC 3701 50th Avenue South, Saint Petersburg, FL 33711 We are building Florida’s premier manufacturer-authorized marine service dealership. Southeastern Marine is the leading mobile service center for manufacturer-authorized marine engines, propulsion systems, and stabilizers. Yacht Power is the top mobile, manufacturer-authorized service provider for marine generators. Boca Ciega Marine Center, located in Maximo Marina, is a leading full-service boatyard with significant investments being made to modernize and expand facilities. With our recent acquisition of the Maximo Boatyard, we are now able to offer a truly unique, full-service, manufacturer-certified marine service center. From bottom paint and hull repair to engine and generator servicing and full repowers, Southeastern Marine, Yacht Power, and Boca Ciega Marine Center together provide a single destination for comprehensive vessel service. This position will report directly to the General Manager and Ownership, with primary responsibilities including the management of service technicians, service scheduling, and general operational duties across all locations on behalf of ownership. Service Management Supervise, schedule, and coordinate all service and repair activities, ensuring timely and efficient work completion. Manage a team of skilled marine technicians, providing leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities. Oversee diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of various types of marine vessels and their mechanical and electrical systems. Ensure that all services are performed to the highest standards, maintaining compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Conduct quality control checks on all completed work and ensure customer satisfaction, including time in field. Coordinate with warranty claims managers, provider service reports, and accurate/timely documentation of repairs and maintenance. Ensure each technician’s schedule is managed efficiently while meeting deadlines by organizing and prioritizing repair of vessels. Oversee large projects with repairs that may span over days, weeks or months Manage and coordinate the schedule with effective planning for parts arrival and backup schedule should a job not be able to be completed, part delivery delayed, etc. Validate daily input of technicians time, notes, photos, receipts, etc. are applied to the Repair Orders by end of each day in our service management system. Validate picked parts are complete and ready for technicians scheduled jobs Operations Management Develop and implement procedures to streamline service processes and improve operational efficiency. Parts operations and backfill for support as needed for internal or retail parts Oversee vehicle fleet and vehicle inventory, including regular inspections Daily oversight of facilities Maintain overall workshop, warehouse and showroom organization and cleanliness Validate parts pricing and assist with managing price brooks Ensure weekly timecard is ‘clean’, accurate ready for payroll each week Assist with managing computers, phones, special tools, software and any other operational items to keep the business operating efficiently. Absolute compliance with environmental regulations, safety protocols, and company policies. Any other tasks or responsibilities as requested by ownership Customer Relations Support service writer with accurate and up-to-date repair status in our service management system as well as support him with customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to service operations. Assist with preparation of estimates and service quotes to customers, explaining service procedures and timelines. Support escalated customer issues and resolve conflicts effectively, ensuring positive customer experiences. Become an additional pillar to support long-term relationships with clients, enhancing repeat business and promoting service packages.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine service and repair with experience in a service management role.

Technical Expertise:

Extensive knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including diesel engines, inboard/outboard motors, generators and marine electronics.

Leadership:

Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of managing a service department or similar operations.

Customer Focused:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and relationship management.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop effective solutions quickly and efficiently.

Organizational Skills:

Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and proficiency in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in the use of service management software, Microsoft Office.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience and/or certifications from diesel marine manufacturers (e.g., Cummins, Volvo, Yanmar and/or Mercury) are highly desirable.
