Since 1966, Neighborly has served the elderly with ever-expanding programs to “improve health, wellness, and independent living for individuals and families.” SUMMARY Implements the established vehicle and wheelchair lift maintenance program for assigned vehicles, ensuring all maintenance is performed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines at appropriate maintenance facilities. Oversees repairs and associated costs, and maintains a comprehensive recordkeeping and reporting system for all vehicle maintenance activities. Develops, schedules, and delivers training for new and existing drivers, and conducts route monitoring to ensure compliance and performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all company vehicle and wheelchair lift maintenance complies with legal and contractual requirements; maintain organized and accurate maintenance records. Be present for all vehicle-related audits or monitoring activities. Coordinate with the Transportation Operations Manager to select maintenance vendors; monitor service quality, billing, warranties, and costs; review invoices and track expenditures for budget compliance. Report major maintenance issues promptly to the Transportation Operations Manager. Provide technical guidance on vehicle operation and maintenance. Review daily vehicle inspection reports and address maintenance needs; perform minor repairs when appropriate. Oversee and review Fleet Services, Inc. vehicle inspections; report concerns to the appropriate Department Director. Train and orient drivers on vehicle operation, safety procedures, and compliance; develop and implement training programs; maintain training records. Respond to accidents or vehicle malfunctions; complete incident reports and coordinate with authorities and insurance representatives. Serve as a backup driver during staff shortages and for special trips. Manage installation and removal of vehicle equipment, signage, and documentation for new and retired vehicles. Oversee collection of monetary donations from vehicles. Order driver supplies and vehicle parts as needed. Foster a safe, professional, and compassionate work environment; maintain an organized workspace. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transportation Operations Manager or senior staff.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Possession of or the ability to obtain within 90 days a valid Class C Florida Commercial License with passenger transport endorsement and not more than four (4) current points, as verified by the D.M.V., as a condition of employment. Ability to be certified at the next available CPR training session. DOT physical New hire rate is $20/hour and we offer an exceptional benefits package.
