Maintenance Supervisor 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Cartersville, GA Summary/Objective The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assignment, coordination and execution of the activities of the maintenance team to provide maintenance that achieves best in class performance, develops and executes cutting edge reliability strategies to ensure efficient operation of the site. Essential Functions Assures specific quality guidelines are met and, if necessary, takes appropriate actions and measures to rectify quality issues. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Leads a team of multidisciplinary maintenance technicians working in assigned production department. Acts as the main point of contact for incoming requests. Prioritizes and distributes tasks to team members. Assures maintenance coverage of production schedule is established. Provides a “Customer Service” attitude that has a high focus on sense of urgency when interacting with internal customers while accomplishing work, production and quality standards. Controls the execution of preventive maintenance activities. Documents work processes and standard operating procedures. Communicates accurately, fully, and professionally with customers regarding priorities, repair steps taken, parts ordered, and estimated time until completion. Troubleshoots and resolve production machine problems. Maximizes reliability of equipment by making or suggesting improvements. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance. Completes enhancement projects or completely new projects for production safety, capability or capacity. Competencies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed. Ability to plan maintenance schedules for equipment and machine systems. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Supervisory Responsibility Hires and trains maintenance department staff. Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position operates in increased working temperature. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. This role operates on a shift schedule. Based on shift schedule, this position will work at least 8 hours per day. As production demands it, this role will be required to work overtime hours including weekends. Travel No travel is expected at this time. Required Education and Experience Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Systems Technology or similar program. Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant industry experience. Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. Experience in all areas of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, schematics, PLC’s, CNC controllers, drive motors and controllers. Able to read and interpret (customer) quality requirements and industrial standards. Experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
