Description Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee construction, maintenance, and drainage work, providing daily supervision and guidance to work crews. If you have at least three years of experience in construction and/or maintenance, including supervisory experience, and are ready to take on a leadership role, apply now to join our team. Examples of Duties Under the direction of a Maintenance Superintendent, you will Provide daily supervision, guidance, and instruction to one or more work crews performing construction, maintenance, or drainage work. Assist in monitoring work progress and training crew members. Operate light, medium, and heavy-weight equipment. Be assigned to the Critical Work Force Category 2, and you must be able to be on call on a 24-hour basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and At least three (3) years of experience in construction and/or maintenance work, including supervisory experience and experience operating medium and heavy equipment; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess or be able to obtain a Georgia Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in Category 24 Ornamental and Turf within six (6) months of employment. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License within one (1) year of employment. Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
