Your essential duties include:

 Provide authoritative leadership and management to the maintenance team, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to organizational standards.

Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement a comprehensive, cost-effective maintenance budget crucial to operational success.

Meticulously prepare and present detailed financial reports related to maintenance activities, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Implement rigorous training programs, develop staff capabilities, and supervise maintenance personnel to guarantee peak performance and operational excellence.

Critically evaluate outsourcing needs and manage contractor relationships with utmost professionalism, overseeing performance to meet organizational standards.

Actively participate in departmental meetings, providing expert input to inform strategic decision-making processes.

Develop and implement a comprehensive, year-round maintenance schedule to ensure uninterrupted equipment reliability and operational continuity.

Implement stringent inventory management practices to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize operational downtime.

Spearhead the implementation of energy-efficient practices to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational costs.

Enforce rigorous standards to maintain the facility at the highest levels of cleanliness and functionality.

Formulate and execute a strategic maintenance plan aligned with critical organizational objectives.

Conduct thorough and regular equipment inspections to proactively identify and address potential malfunctions, ensuring operational integrity.

Organize and lead focused maintenance team meetings to address equipment issues and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

Your role is vital in maintaining the operational integrity of our bakery, ensuring uninterrupted production processes, and significantly contributing to overall organizational success.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing and providing expert guidance on the installation, repair, or replacement of critical electrical devices including transformers, relays, circuit breakers, starters, and safety and limit switches.

Ensuring proper layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to maintain operational efficiency.

Overseeing the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of automated machinery and Programmable Logic Controllers to ensure optimal performance.

Managing the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration and Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment to maintain environmental control.

Directing the service and repair of material handling equipment to ensure seamless operations.

Overseeing the monitoring and troubleshooting of the main electrical panel to prevent disruptions.

Managing the repair and maintenance of boilers, water heaters, water conditioning equipment, and all water distribution systems to ensure operational continuity.

Furthermore, you will be accountable for:

Enforcing strict adherence to all safety and government guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.

Identifying and documenting safety issues with machines, developing comprehensive action plans to resolve concerns, and following up to ensure timely resolution.

Rigorously monitoring machines to ensure all levels are within EPA, OSHA, and other government guidelines, developing and implementing action plans to resolve any deviations, and ensuring thorough follow-up on all identified issues. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are essential for the successful execution of this critical role:

Education and Experience:

Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or university, and/orTechnical School Training (minimum of two years), and/orMinimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience, and/orLicensed journeyman of a skilled trade

Supervisory Expertise:

Demonstrated proficiency in personnel management, including hiring, development, and implementation of disciplinary procedures

Technical Proficiencies:

Advanced computer skills, with particular emphasis on:

Microsoft WordMicrosoft ExcelGroupwiseComputer Maintenance Management Program (CMMS)Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, mechanical schematics, and electrical diagramsAbility to effectively communicate complex information to peers, upper management, and team members in both oral and written formatsSkilled in problem definition and logical conclusion derivationProficient in interpreting technical instructions and diagrams

Certifications and Licenses:

Certified Electrician (Electrical and Refrigeration)EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type II or Universal) – Federal requirement for Team Leaders or Maintenance Technicians servicing refrigeration equipment or handling refrigerantProficiency in Safe Food Handling PracticesAmerican Bakery Institute (ABI) certification (preferred)Hazardous Materials Certification by State (Minnesota only)This role demands an individual capable of performing under extreme pressure during equipment failures and possessing the ability to evaluate and repair all types of mechanical and electrical equipment. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to develop and guide a maintenance team in similar tasks.
