Auto Transport Fleet Maintenance Manager 100% On-site Brunswick, GA | Port-Based | Full-Time Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)We’re looking for a highly skilled and strategic Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the performance, compliance, and reliability of a growing fleet of specialized car haulers. You’ll lead a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians to ensure our 250+ vehicles stay road-ready, safe, and in full compliance with
DOT/FMCSA
standards.
This is a leadership-level opportunity with direct impact on operations-and the chance to help shape the maintenance infrastructure as the company plans to triple in size over the next five years. Key ResponsibilitiesManage 3 Fleet Maintenance Supervisors with their direct reportsLead and manage inspection, service, and repair operations for all tractors, trailers, and specialty car hauling equipmentCoordinate preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA and OEM standardsTrack and report key fleet metrics: downtime, cost-per-mile, PM compliance, emergency eventsApprove maintenance expenditures and evaluate vendor repair estimatesMaintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for inspections, repairs, and driver-reported defectsOversee the CLC Lodging program and ensure proper vehicle availability for new hiresRespond to breakdowns and direct timely roadside recovery or supportManage registration, decals, IFTA reporting, and fuel permitting processesServe as a key partner to Operations and HR to align equipment availability with driver schedules and hiring What You Bring5+ years of indirect fleet management experience, including 1-3 years in a supervisory roleDeep knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations and preventive maintenance strategyStrong vendor negotiation and contract management skillsFamiliarity with
IFTA, IC
contracts, vehicle registration, and fuel permitsAbility to track OEM specs and maintain warranty complianceProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)CDL or car hauler driving experience preferredMust be eligible for a TWIC badge due to port access requirementsHigh school diploma or GED required About the CompanyThis opportunity is with a fast-growing transportation and logistics firm, recently launched as a subsidiary of a global automotive giant.
