Class Summary Job Description
The Operations Trades Manager position will primarily be responsible for the daily management and oversight of maintenance and asset reliability activities at Lanier Filter Plant, Shoal Creek Filter Plant, and various tank and booster stations spread throughout the county. This team is responsible for performing safe and effective proactive maintenance and emergency repairs for more than 14,000 assets across the county. This position will lead two process control associates and three trades coordinators that supervise 14 trades technicians. Essential Duties
Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Manages daily activities of the section to include planning, scheduling, coordinating repairs, and supporting operations as required.
Oversees and participates in the analysis of management information; identifies issues and discrepancies; conducts need’s analysis; projects consequences of proposed actions; formulates recommendations based on findings; implements priorities, work processes, and procedures; and/or trains individuals on established or modified organizational practices and/or procedures.
Participates in project planning, inspects work sites, and coordinate with internal and external parties involved in the project.
Supports purchasing and planning for the facilities to include identification of materials for general repairs, preventative maintenance, projects, service contracts, and price agreements.
May manage outside vendors and contractors related to preventative or reactive repairs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Grade
The grade for this position is 104. Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business or construction management or a related field; AND Seven years of progressively responsible trades and/or management experience, some of which in a supervisory capacity; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Valid Driver’s License from state of residency.
