Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for leading maintenance personnel, supervising shift maintenance employees and coordinating maintenance activities for the building and equipment in support of production, sanitation, distribution and safety goals consistent with the King’s Hawaiian vision and values. This position will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager and other operations, maintenance and engineering colleagues in order to ensure success.

Job Requirements:

Responsible for keeping all the process and building equipment in operating condition to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production. Collaborates with Operations personnel to ensuring efficient production and minimize downtime. Helps in developing and improving preventive maintenance programs. Leads spare parts inventory within budget and operational guidelines. Ensures that work is accurately planned and scheduled. Evaluates the Preventive Maintenance efficiency by analyzing maintenance costs and equipment downtime. Develops and executes plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Confers with outside contractors to acquire service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Audits the chemical storage policy and procedures to ensure proper labeling and storage. Performs maintenance and repairs as needed. Enforces Federal, State, City and A.I.B. Health and Safety Standards, including OSHA (State and/or Federal) and Hazardous Material regulation, in keeping with the work process and chemical inventory by location. Promotes safety in the work area by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all accidents in a timely manner. Ensures that maintenance personnel follow all company policies, and carries out the safety program. Assists direct reports and others, hands-on, as needed Responsible for Quality and Food Safety functions (reporting all quality and food safety concerns/issues to QA) as assigned and outlined in Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program.

Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management, production operations management or equivalent field of study is preferred but not required 5 years+ Supervisory and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Food industry / baking industry preferred. Strong understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Proven understanding of automation / PLC applications Basic mathematical and statistical skills. Basic financial skills and understanding. Key Leadership Competencies in addition to Ethics / Values and Integrity / Trust, (Proactive, Directing Others, Priority Setting, Decision Quality, Organizing, Process Management) Valid driver’s license is required.
