Facility Maintenance Team Leader

Position Summary:

Step into the role of Facility Maintenance Lead at Kubota Manufacturing of America, where your leadership and expertise will guide a dedicated team in maintaining our facilities with precision and care. You will ensure safe and efficient maintenance processes, utilizing your strong communication skills, training techniques, and hands-on experience.

Your mission:

to uphold our standards of excellence through effective troubleshooting, TPM maintenance, and 5S practices for organization and cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Job Distribution:

Master the art of job allocation, balancing available manpower based on team members’ qualifications and skill sets to optimize productivity.

Root Cause Detective:

Employ root cause analysis techniques (5-Why, fishbone diagram, PDCA) to identify and develop corrective actions for facility issues and safety concerns.

Acting Supervisor:

Step into supervisory duties in the absence of a Supervisor, providing guidance and support to your team.

Versatile Handyman:

Serve as a general plumber, carpenter, mechanic, and handyman, bringing a diverse skill set to tasks such as parts replacement, painting, landscaping, and more.

Equipment Observer:

Monitor equipment operations, troubleshoot issues, and perform adjustments and minor repairs as necessary to ensure optimal performance.

Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooter:

Oversee and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical systems, such as lighting, HVAC units, fire alarms, domestic water systems, and fire pumps, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and providing electrical assistance as needed. Proficient in working with 120/208/480 voltage in both three-phase and single-phase configurations.

Fabrication Operator:

Skillfully operate fabrication equipment and machine shop tools, including presses, drills, and welding equipment.

Preventive Maintenance Champion:

Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on all plant support equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Safety-Conscious Operator:

Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, RTVs, booms, and scissor lifts, adhering to all safety protocols.

S Advocate:

Maintain 5S compliant work areas, fostering a culture of cleanliness and organization.

Quality Standards Guardian:

Understand and comply with ISO 9001 and

ISO 14001

requirements, contributing to our commitment to quality and environmental excellence.

Project Contributor:

Take on special projects and related tasks as requested, showcasing your adaptability and dedication.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • 2-3 years of facility maintenance experience, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and diagrams.
  • Basic competency in the English language.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid certification for powered industrial vehicles and overhead crane operations within 30 days of position start.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • An Associate’s degree in Maintenance Technology is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated maintenance experience in a similar environment.
  • Basic understanding of preventative maintenance techniques and processes.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Physical Requirements:

As a Facility Maintenance Lead, you’ll need to thrive in varying conditions. You should be able to withstand extreme temperatures, stand for up to 8 hours, and possess dexterity to handle tools and controls. You may also need to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
