Superintendent Summary:

Directs activities of workers concerned with construction of pipeline projects or other construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Assures that all work is completed safely, per the scope of work, on time, and within budget.

Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities:

(Other duties may be assigned) Examines and inspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met. Trains workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies. Reads specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures. Assigns work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs. Confers with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities. Estimates material and worker requirements to complete jobs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisors may directly supervise 15-20 employees in the yard and/or remote locations and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding and disciplining employees.

Physical Demands:

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Supervisors must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations. They must also comply with all governmental regulations.
