Summary The Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team, ensuring the upkeep of the physical plant and production equipment, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. This role serves as a working leader, performing hands-on maintenance while providing technical guidance, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. - Lead and coordinate daily work assignments of the maintenance team
- Perform installation, repair, adjustment, troubleshooting, and inspection of equipment and tools
- Manage and execute preventative maintenance; ensure completion of PM checklists and work orders
- Documents maintenance work performed and maintain related records and files
- Collaborate with production team to fine-tune and optimize machinery performance
- Performs general maintenance to plant structure, electrical and light plumbing work
- Fabricates guards and safety equipment for machinery
- Provides direction regarding machine and equipment usage as needed
- Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts and manage reordering process
- Monitor and ensure compliance with lockout/tagout and other safety protocols
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Assist with seasonal outdoor duties, such as plowing and grounds maintenance
- Maintain HVAC equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in the field. Attend appropriate training programs to remain current on machines, equipment and other maintenance related areas
- Maintain appropriate licensure or certifications
- Communicate regularly with management in order to coordinate matters related to maintenance of equipment
- Provides input to managers for the annual budget and capital expenditures planning
- Identify systems and procedures designed to improve operations
- Other related duties as directed by management
Experience:
2-4 years previous experience in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. PLC and HMI knowledge preferred Prior experience with the tools for the job (threading machines, electric snakes, table saw, drill press, etc.) Basic trade mathematical skills Basic computer skills A motivated self-starter who is able to work both independently and as a team player Must be able to complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check, driver’s license check, physical and drug screen
Certification/License:
Valid driver’s license with a clean record, Hoisting Engineer and Powered Industrial Truck licenses.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent -OR- Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
