JobSummary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the everyday operationand upkeep of the equipment and building, planning and implementingprojects and safety issues within and around the plant.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:
Manages day- to-day activities of a team of directreports and communicates daily with Plant Manager. Supports operationaldepartments by maintaining equipment and resolves mechanicalmalfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipmentcapabilities at the department’s request. Establishes and maintains apositive work environment including but not limited to personaldevelopment, training, and safety. Creates and analyzes maintenance workorders and assigns maintenance personnel to complete all necessaryorders. Follows up with the assigned personnel as needed until the orderis complete. Plan and execute projects in conjunction with what isassigned by the Plant Manager. Controlling inventories, parts ordering,and vendor communication. Focus on improving operations and improvingcosts. Assists in the scheduling of maintenance team to ensure projectsare completed. Supports SQF (Safe Quality Foods) by maintaining foodsafety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining thework area in a sanitary manner, following site GMPs (good manufacturingpractices). Assists in SQF audits by maintaining and implementingmaintenance procedures and programs to meet SQF guidelines. Reviews andmaintains all documentation and records. Serves as backup for allmaintenance technicians when there are vacations or call outs. Hires,Trains, supervise and provide skill development and coaching for allmaintenance employees. Develops, implements, and updates policies andprocedures for maintenance services. Evaluates serviceagreements/contracts and submits recommendations to the Plant Manager.
Design, maintain and or implement preventative maintenance systems.
Oversee and train contractors completing projects at the facility. Otherduties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Education and Experience:
Aminimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a plant ormanufacturing industry. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Atleast 3 years of supervisory or management experience required. Industrybackground in Food or Beverage preferred. Demonstrated experience withinmechanical and electrical systems. Experience within PLC’s and AmmoniaRefrigeration preferred Experience working with outside vendors andcontractors.
