Ensure all Maintenance personnel wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Ensure all Maintenance personnel follow company safety procedures. Ensure major equipment failures are remedied with a sense of urgency. Continuous Improvement Create monthly preventive maintenance (P.M.’s) status. Identify opportunities to improve problem areas on the production lines. Collaborate with Engineering to develop solutions for problem areas on the production lines. Champion lean initiatives such as 5s, safety improvements. Administration Maintain a thorough understanding of the Union contract. Review equipment maintenance issues with the Manufacturing Manager and schedule time to resolve any equipment issues. Obtain quotations to correct equipment maintenance issues. Maintain a comprehensive and effective Preventive Maintenance program. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Maintenance Department including P.M’S, Maintenance Labor, and Maintenance Budgets. Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager. Training and Auditing Provide technical leadership to train and develop Maintenance employees to become competent and effective troubleshooters on all bottling equipment. Audit PM completion and report overdue PMs and repair items to the Manufacturing Manager. Coordinate and ensure all necessary safety training for affected employees is completed and communicated to Human Resources and the Safety Manager as required. Ensure that critical spare parts are kept on hand.
What you will bring:
Required Education B.S. Mechanical or Electrical degree preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum 3+ years in a maintenance supervisory role within the food and beverage or liquid filling field with a strong understanding of the maintenance processes. Excellent interpersonal skills to lead the Maintenance department, providing direct and indirect supervision of employees and site contractors. Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure work can be accomplished in a safe fashion. Ability to work in a team environment with peer department managers and supervisors. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lead projects with third party vendors. Strong organizational skills required to effectively manage Preventive Maintenance program and lead continuous improvement efforts. Strong computer skills required.
Physical Requirements Physical mobility:
walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping, sitting throughout entire shift. Must be able to climb into and out of narrow work spaces and work in high areas.
Physical dexterity:
Use of phone, fax, and computer. Stationary working at a computer terminal or keyboard up to 6 hours per day. Ability to endure possible exposure to high heat and cold when going through the plant.
