Agency:

The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration is the primary agency responsible for State government financial and administrative operations including employee payroll, vendor payments, employee insurance, construction, maintenance, and protection of State buildings in the Capitol Complex, financial information management systems, management of the State’s vehicle fleet, and numerous other related activities. Position:

Second-level supervisory position accountable for directing and overseeing a variety of employees, specialized trade workers and contractors in the maintenance, operation and repair of state facilities and their equipment. Jobs at this level may be more complex or have oversight of a small or mid-sized state facility or an area or department within a larger state facility. Repair and maintain state buildings and state equipment. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and work task review; and performance assessment, guidance, and progressive training. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen, including basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

Typically requires 2-4 years of experience with 2-4 in semi-skilled work. Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems working knowledge. What You’ll Need to be

The incumbent will need to possess knowledge, skills and experience in areas such as painting, dry wall, electrical repair, HVAC, plumbing and other maintenance areas as required. Supervisory skills (employees).
