Summary of Position The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the activities of all maintenance personnel; supervises all hourly and salaried personnel, the initiation of safe work practices in all areas of the facility, the execution of an effective preventative/predictive maintenance program, an ongoing training program for maintenance personnel, the minimization of breakdowns and the overall efficient operation of all facilities and equipment, participation in planning efforts toward facility and/or equipment modifications or additions, continuous improvement in company operations, and the adherence to all company/plant policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises the activities of all maintenance personnel to include Trade Service Associates (TSA), Scheduler/Planner, MRO clerk, and material planner. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and discharging personnel in accordance with company policies. Responsible for professionally developing subordinates. Supervises the activities of all contracted personnel including maintenance service workers, waste haulers, and contractors. Develops work scopes/contracts for contracted outside service vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Administers scopes/contracts to ensure work is completed according to terms. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of maintenance personnel. Ensures adequate inventories of critical components are consistently on-hand. Ensures maintenance personnel have appropriate hand tools, power tools and consumables. Plans and executes activities intended to provide continuous improvement in the company’s manufacturing practices. Utilizes CMMS system to manage workorder and preventive/predictive maintenance programs. Plans and administers an ongoing maintenance training program. Assists the Maintenance and Facilities Manager in establishing yearly operating and capital budgets. Assists Maintenance and Facilities Manager in execution/support of capital projects. Administers MRO budgets within the constraints of the approved annual limits. Works with other departments as necessary to plan and execute seamless modifications/additions to facilities and/or equipment. Assures safe work practices and company/plant policies are adhered to at all times. Administers and ensures local compliance with industrial safety and environmental regulatory programs (ie. Arc Flash, ECP/LOTO, Confined Space, Stormwater, Haz Waste Handling, Hot Work, Working at Heights, PSM, etc…). Tracks and reports on maintenance key performance indicators and budget items. Responsible for facilities and support equipment monitoring and maintenance Other responsibilities as directed by the Maintenance and Facilities Manager. BSME or BSEE preferred Minimum 3 years leading/managing a team Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills Knowledge of technical aspect of facilities, Safety and Compliance Regulations, LSS techniques and processes, and machine capabilities and functionality Understanding of state and federal regulations, knowledge of operational procedures, knowledge of building systems, electrical and mechanical functions, and overall best practices SAP experience preferred. Ability to lift, bend, & stoop when required and stand for extended periods Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone Work Environment This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.
