Electrical Planner
WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
PRIMARY
OBJECTIVE
Coordinating of planned maintenance jobs in order to minimize costs and production downtime by the proper use of craft work force, materials and services. Plans major plant maintenance activities and promotes planning and scheduling techniques for better understanding of Maintenance and Production Supervision. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor over assigned production lines with a dotted line to the Maintenance Manager.
NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION
Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
Analyze all work orders for clarity as to what is requested
- contact originator to assure a clear understanding of the work order submitted.
Plan jobs - includes a written plan of the materials, special tools, craft sequence and time required to perform the job.
Plan/Schedule jobs for multiple lines as assigned

JOB FUNCTIONS
Review all planned job (s) with Maintenance Supervisor.
Requesting, knowledge and whereabouts of all materials need for planned jobs.
Expediting materials for emergency work and prepare a critical path schedule for critical maintenance work.
Form task lists, man-hours, safety requirements and work performance for developing repetitive jobs.
Maintain open communications with Production and Maintenance to effectively plan and schedule assigned work.
Make corrective action for controllable problems
- suggest and initiate safety practices.
Evaluate data for improving maintenance costs and controls.
Plan and facilitate weekly and daily scheduling meetings - communicate daily schedules to assigned departmental employees.
Review PM’s for accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency - develop optimum maintenance strategies for all equipment.
Ensures Bill of Materials and Work Orders are complete and accurate.
Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s
Conduct required SMAT Audits in accordance with plant goals and objectives.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
(SKILLS & ABILITIES): Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in a technical field, and/or requisite maintenance experience that lends itself to a working knowledge of machines, their operation and spare parts needs. Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communications, listening, and have strong organizational skills. Must understand purchasing procedures and MRO parts distribution, be computer literate, and have knowledge of computerized maintenance systems, or possess the ability to learn. Position is dedicated to providing direction for machine repairs and tracking of needed parts. Planners must be comfortable with physical aspects of the plant’s environment; i.e., working with various byproducts of raw materials used in the operation.

REQUIREMENTS
Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively with all levels of customers, whether internal or external, sensitivity to other’s needs, and maintain a positive demeanor. Extended work hours, weekend and holidays will be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, talk and hear.

CONDITIONS
Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.
