Full-Time(Exempt)Position SummaryThe Director of MEP Systems reports to theSr. Director of Engineering & Sustainability and is responsible forthe safe, efficient, and reliable physical plant operation andmaintenance of Bank of America Stadium and Carolina Pantherspractice facilities. Specific areas of responsibility includeMEP/FP systems, building management system (BAS), and ComputerizedMaintenance Management System (CMMS). This position plays acritical role in the development and execution of stadium-widestandard operating procedures as well as compliance with health andsafety standards.

Primary Responsibilities Provide the highest level of customer service to the CarolinaPanthers, Charlotte Football Club, touring artists, partnershipclients, and all guests. Direct and administratively support a high-performing anddedicated in-house Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing maintenanceteam

  • responsible for all major building systems.

Provide leadership to departmental teams and activities thatoperate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Lead all aspects of the scheduling and deployment ofmaintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of physicalplant: chiller plants, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing,refrigeration, and food and beverage equipment. Maintain the budget in support of operational needs; coordinateand manage all outside contractors. Ensure open communication and mutual support betweenengineering, operations, project development, and front-of-houseguest services. Recruit and mentor MEP team members. Implement standard operating procedures to ensure the successof the venues and the well-being of mechanical equipment. Participate in special projects and other duties asrequested. Provide oversight and quality control of stadium cleaningvendors. Ensure expectations are met/quality control checklistsevent prep/during the event and post event. Coordinate and provideoversight of all stadium cleaning contracts and vendors. Prepare the Stadium for events by completing quality assuranceinspections, reactive incident management system tasks as required,and post-event procedure supervision. Self-direct and project team workload to achieve annualbusiness goals and support the overall organization. Be on site and an active participant in major stadium eventsand special events as required. Complete site surveys and visual inspections for maintenancerepairs and Capital Improvement Projects. Assist with project cost planning and budget adherence and beresponsible for quarterly variance reports. Complete weekly payroll for full-time hourly staff reporting tothis position and review payroll invoices from third-partyhousekeeping partners. Facilitate training and career development for direct reportsand motivate our team members to achieve “stretch” goals. Coordinate effectively with peers in the MEP and Maintenancedepartments for infrastructure repairs and maintenance. Facilitate annual inspections as required by the authorityhaving jurisdiction (Mecklenburg County), City of Charlotte andCharlotte Fire Department. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a facilities/buildingoperations and maintenance management role for asports/entertainment venue or public-facing assembly facility. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering OR equivalent mission-criticalfacilities management experience. Extensive knowledge of facility maintenance, refrigerationsystems, and facility environmental systems with successfulcompletion of US-based certifications. Able to operate stadium machinery such as forklifts and scissorlifts (training will be provided). Recent professional experience in engineering and maintenanceor related professional area, including technical training inHVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing and Class B Refrigeration. Must be a proven, effective team leader; able to lead a teamacross all disciplines of facilities management; a self-starterwith strong analysis skills and comfortable with financial analysisof budget, forecast, and performance. Experience managing an operating budget consisting of in-houselabor, outsourced labor, service contracts, and consumable suppliescost centers. Experience/knowledge of food and beverage cleaningoperations. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software, andComputerized Maintenance Management System software. Must be able work on a ladder or scaffolding, use power tools,and perform other facility maintenance functions. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must pass pre-employment screens. Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and allCarolina Panthers, Charlotte F.C. and major stadium events,including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays whennecessary. Must be available for on-call work as necessary aswell.

Preferred Qualifications NFL and/or MLS venue experience. Experience working with food and beverage operators, concerts,and other stadium events. Experience with 24/7 Software or similar IMS/CMMSsolution.

Required Skills Organized and diligent, resourceful, quick learner with a highattention to detail and excellent time management skills. Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure tomeet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and balance multipleprojects and priorities simultaneously. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a team player, reliable, and dependable. Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/orsensitive information carefully and with sensitivity. Detail-oriented and forward-thinking. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer servicefocus.

Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods of time. Sitting and working at desk on a computer. Walking throughout the stadium. Lift at least 50 pounds. Bending, standing, reaching, and kneeling. This job operates mostly outside and in/around a stadiumfacility, which may include inclement weather conditions. Thisposition operates in variable temperatures, including extreme hotand cold weather, based on the season, and in sometimesconfined/narrow spaces.
