Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor
- Feed Mill is responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance activities within the feed mill facility.
This role ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, minimizes downtime, and ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and quality requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise and direct daily maintenance operations for the feed mill, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
Plan, schedule, and assign maintenance tasks to team members, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on feed mill equipment and machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including OSHA regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
Train and develop maintenance staff, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruption.
Collaborate with feed mill management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support production goals.
Manage maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities within the feed mill.
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance experience in a feed mill, agricultural production, or manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and feed mill operations.
Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment (e.g., conveyors, motors, pumps, mixers).
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations as needed.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping, reporting, and inventory management.
