Summary:
The System VPof Real Estate Development and -Facilities is responsible forleading the strategic planning, development, and -management ofreal estate and facilities to support UNC Health’s goals. Thisroleincludes overseeing capital projects, planning and managingfacility -operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligningreal estate strategy -with organizational objectives. This leaderensures strict adherence to -established policies and procedures,ensuring the entity’s conduct aligns with -the highest standardsdictated by applicable laws, regulations, sound business-practices, and our Code of Conduct.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop andexecute a comprehensive real estate and facilities strategy thataligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals. Identify and evaluate new real estate opportunities, includingacquisitions, leasing, and development projects. Lead and manage large-scale real estate projects, includingsite selection, design, construction, and renovation of healthcarefacilities. Collaborate with senior leadership to plan and prioritize realestate investments and capital projects. Develop and implement facility management policies andprocedures to optimize operational efficiency andcost-effectiveness for +9M sq. ft. Manage relationships with external vendors and serviceproviders, ensuring high-quality service delivery and contractcompliance. Build a Facilities team that will manage the day-to-dayoperations of all healthcare facilities, ensuring they arewell-maintained, safe, and compliant with all relevant regulationsand standards. Ensure that all facilities comply with healthcare regulations,building codes, safety standards, and accreditationrequirements. Monitor and manage the facilities’ compliance with local,state, and federal regulations, including healthcare-specificrequirements. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and addressany potential issues or areas for improvement. Develop and manage budgets for real estate development andfacilities operations, ensuring effective cost control and resourceallocation. Analyze financial performance and report on key metrics relatedto real estate and facilities investments. Negotiate and manage contracts related to real estatetransactions, facility maintenance, and construction projects. Serve as the primary liaison between the organization internaland external stakeholders, developers, architects, and communitypartners. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align real estateand facilities initiatives with broader organizational strategiesand objectives. Represent the organization in public forums and industry eventsas needed.2. Leading People – Leads people toward meeting theorganization’s vision, mission, and goals. Requires 12 years of progressively responsible experience,including 10 years of people managementexperience
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
In-depth understanding of real estate principles, markettrends, and valuation methods. Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, and maintenancebest practices. Proven ability to manage complex real estate projects frominception to completion. Effective leadership skills to manage and motivate a team ofreal estate professionals. Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of real estatemanagement. Focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving value forthe organization.
