North Bergen, NJ 07047 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This position involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and supervision of facilities maintenance activities on-site. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all maintenance work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Duties Assist the Superintendent in coordinating, supervising, and completing work orders on-site. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards. Manage project scheduling to ensure timely completion of tasks. Utilize tools such as Building Link to report and communicate completing work orders Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, porters and team members to ensure smooth workflow. Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, quality of work and preventative maintenance

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair practices, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.

Supervisory Experience:

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of maintenance & janitorial staff.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders. (Bi-lingual preferred English & Spanish)

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues and recommend effective solutions.

Knowledge of Safety Regulations:

Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to maintenance and construction.

Budget Management:

Ability to track expenditures and participate in budget planning.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.

License:

Black seal low-pressure boiler operation and maintenance or ability to obtain. This position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers as a Superintendent while contributing to impactful projects within a dynamic team environment.

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
