WHO YOU CAN BECOME

The Director of Maintenance & Facilities is a full-time, 40 hours a week, salaried exempt position who organizes, administers, and leads a comprehensive program of maintenance and custodial services that provide and maintain in an efficient and economical manner the facilities, grounds, equipment, and furnishings of LaSalle, so that all youth, staff, and the community are assured of clean, safe, attractive, and healthy places in which to live, learn, and work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead, organize, supervise, and provide all maintenance and contracted custodial operations of LaSalle.
  • Perform repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Ensure Maintenance coverage is available to respond to non-regular hours emergency calls.
  • Maintain a yearly Maintenance Plan that is both corrective and preventative for the upkeep of all facilities, grounds, vehicles, and the major facilities systems (HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural).
  • Supervise the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure safe and proper use of equipment, vehicles and materials, identification and prevention of hazards, air quality controls, Right-To-Know programs, and prevention of accidents and injuries.
  • Provide and monitor a system of regular building, equipment, and ground inspections.
  • Monitor and recommend systems and procedures to ensure the security of all facilities.
  • Maintain an inventory control system and purchase supplies, parts, and equipment.
  • Approve the specifications and recommend contractors to perform maintenance and repair services.
  • Supervise removal of snow in a timely manner.
  • Operate electronic and other equipment needed to carry out job functions and responsibilities.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • High School Degree with 5+ years experience in facility maintenance and renovations, along with supervision experience.

Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license. Defensive Driving Certfiication (will have up to 15 days to complete after hiring).

WHO ARE YOU

Strong communication and supervisory skills Planning skills Training in operations of various facility equipment and systems Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, masonry work, care and maintenance of equipment and agency vehicles. Painting, grounds work, mowing and landscaping. Computer control systems Able to frequent lift 35-50 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 75-100 or more. This is often combined with bending, twisting, or working on irregular surfaces or at heights above the ground.
