Opportunitysummary:
As a Maintenance Manager you will be responsible forsupporting all aspects of the maintenance operation in a 100%recycled papermill including management of all maintenanceemployees, maintaining company assets, and managing work executionthat strategically achielves mill and OME goals. This position islocated onsite at the Solvay, NY Paper Mill. How you will impactWestRock Support the core behaviors of Smurfit Westrock Responsiblefor the day to day maintenance of the mill Leads planning,scheduling, and work execution that strategically and tacticallyachieves mill OME goals. Resolve work problems and suggest plans tomotivate employees to achieve goals through a team basedenvironment Ensure plant equipment is maintained in a safe andcompliant operating condition Assisting in the planning of projectswith the engineering team in the design, development, andinstallation of new equipment and existing equipment Develops,recommends, implements and executes procedures for maintenance asrequired Develops maintenance goals and objectives that align withmill goals and objectives Develops effective personnel to meetorganizational needs as well as the development of succession planswithin the maintenance department Ensures that performance reviewsoccur in a timely manner for all personnel and they are within theestablished Smurfit Westrock guidelines Responsible for plannedoutage coordination and management ensuring the safety of allpersonnel associated with the outage and timelines are met Addressreactive/unplanned maintenance through rapid response and supportcontinuous improvements through documentation, analysis andfeedback to derive corrective action Lead the reliability program;support and lead improvement and growth of the department Develops,recommends and reports measurements on key business activities inthe maintenance area Responsible for demonstrating managerialleadership within maintenance resulting in efficient and effectiveutilization of our valuable human resources Manages expendituresconsistent with budget and business plan. Supports development ofbudget and business plan annually Ensure that the maintenance teamsupports both preventative and predictive maintenance programsthrough analysis, planning and productivity Ability to workcooperatively with all departments and all levels of employeesDevelopment of relationships with outside vendors and contractorswhich would assist in the successful completion of machine outagesMonitor the completion of job assignments through observation andinspections to ensure compliance and standards are met bymaintenance Utilize the software models and JDE system as well asproficiency in MS office Perform all other duties as assigned Whatyou need to succeed: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and aminimum five years’ experience in maintenance, pulp and paperindustry OR equivalent work experience in a maintenance position.
Computerized maintenance management system/computer/Windowscompetencies. Team player, good listener, good communicationskills, good interpersonal skills, good organizational skills,self-starter, highly motivated and results oriented. Leader in theareas of continuous improvement, goals setting and successfullyleading change. Excellent knowledge of safety regulations,practices and procedures applicable to the work being done. Provenexperience leading and developing maintenance personnel(electricians, mechanics, pipe fitters and other skilledtradesmen). Requires a working knowledge of mechanical andelectrical systems. Strong leadership skills in maintenancemanagement. Must be proactive and action oriented relative toreaction to emergencies as well as preventative and predictivemaintenance. Ability to prepare accurate and reliable reportscontaining findings, observations and conclusions from the datautilized.

The salary rangefor this position is $142,500.00 – $237,500.00, depending on yourrole, level, and location.
