Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Technicalcollege or certifications preferred Minimum of 5 years’ experiencein the food, beverage, or other high speed automated manufacturingenvironment. Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience required.

Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Ability to troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC systems. Ability toprogram preferred. Computer literacy required with proficiency inMicrosoft Office products including Excel and Word. Knowledge ofpreventative maintenance software required. Strong analytical andtroubleshooting skills. Knowledgeable on OSHA laws and canimplement all OSHA required training for the department. Excellentoral and written communications skills. Must be 18 years or older.

Pass a drug test and physical exam. Ability and willingness to work12 hour shifts and the flexibility to work a flexible full timeschedule that may include weekends and holidays.

Essential JobDuties:

Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools andequipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect,and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures andsafety rules. Maintain a positive working environment that’s freeof harassment or discriminatory activities. Work with linemechanics to assure the completion of preventative maintenanceplans on equipment and machinery to assure efficient and safeoperating conditions. Works directly with the production leads whennecessary to review and establish programs to control and improvethe production processes. Investigates and diagnoses to resolveproduction problems in a timely manner utilizing line operators andmechanics. Acts as the “first responder” when a line stopsproducing and assures that the appropriate mechanical help is onsite to correct any problems quickly. Accurate and comprehensivecompletion of daily paperwork documentation. Provides training andcross training to assure that the mechanic staff meets requiredcompetency ratings in order to meet production schedules, productspecifications, quality requirements and safety standards. Helpsthe maintenance manager evaluate training opportunities andtraining progress in order to ensure a qualified workforce.

Implement and facilitate the facilities food safety and foodquality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results.

Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for workactivities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skillof personnel. Coach employees about work-related issues and assistemployees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Prioritizes work toensure timely maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment,tools and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.

Drives the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with themaintenance manager. Reviews maintenance reports and statistics toplan and modify maintenance activities. Work with the maintenancemanager to develop, update and maintain Standard OperatingProcedures. Inspects operating machines and equipment forconformance with operational and safety performance standards.

Directs the orientation and training of maintenance, setup andchangeovers to improve work performance and adhere to companypolicies and procedures. Ensures production equipment is ready foruse by completing preventative maintenance requirements, andrecommending third-party service repairs when necessary.

Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.

Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information todetermine needed repairs. Perform any and all other duties asrequired by the maintenance manager and needs of the business.

Frequently Work Environment:

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyexposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee isexposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals,extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposedto high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk ofelectrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to outsideweather conditions; and a noise level requiring use of hearingprotection.

GMP & PPE

Required While on the production floor in theplant you will be required to follow and help to enforce all GMPregulations in the plant. Anyone entering the production floor mustfollow the GMP rules in their employee handbook, which includes therequired hairnets, beard nets, and earplugs. It is also requiredthat all personnel wear safety glasses as the tasks requires.

Follow standard operating procedures including quality checks andprocedures for all operations. Meets food safety and qualityobjectives and the requirements of the SQF System. In the absenceof this employee, the direct manager or appointee will coverresponsibilities.
