Maintenance Supervisor 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Cheraw, SC 29520 Maintenance Supervisor Position Summary Oversee maintenance operations to ensure equipment uptime, efficiency, and safety. Supervise Maintenance Mechanics, schedule preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and food quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the daily workflow and assignments of the maintenance department. Assign shift mechanics to maintenance breakdowns/concerns to ensure the proper execution of daily work activities. Schedule, assign, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. Ensure maintenance schedules are being maintained to drive quality, efficiency, safety, service and cost performance. Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure timely resolution to minimize production downtime. Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet plant performance goals. Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training and communication for front-line hourly maintenance employees. Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance mechanics and support staff. Effectively hold employees accountable for assignments and behavior. Administer policies and procedures including issuing disciplinary actions and completing pay increases. Maintain accurate records of equipment, repairs, and maintenance history using CMMS systems. Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, GMP, and Company safety and quality standards. Assist in capital projects, including equipment installations and upgrades. Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety and efficiency. Analyze all available mechanical data to detect, diagnose and correct machine errors, defects and malfunctions. Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment. Maintain records of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted. Perform breakdown analysis. Work with outside contractors and vendors. Effectively communicate with co-employees concerning all aspects of the maintenance function. Work well with others in a team-orientated atmosphere. Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred but comparable skills and technical experience or certification (e.g. HVAC, PLC, Electrical) also considered. Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a consumer products company preferably within a soft drink business. Minimum of 2 years experience supervising maintenance teams is strongly preferred Demonstrated mechanical skills. Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes including filling, packaging and sanitation. Prior hands-on experience with high-speed bottling and canning equipment including fillers, conveyors, packers, palletizers, blow molds, and labelers. Strong planning, organizational and documentation skills. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office. Ability to work across all shifts and support a 24/7 operation as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. The ability to hear, talk, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Vision requirements to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving, and manipulating materials and parts. Must be able to safely lift up to 40 pounds on a periodic basis. Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of various types of materials and parts. Must be able to climb onto and off of machinery throughout the shift (8-10 hours per day). Bending and stooping is routine during the work shift. Must be able to use and handle all hand and electrical repair and testing tools and equipment. Some travel may be required.
