Our client is seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager to join their team, and expanding facility, in Ridgeville, SC. The Plant Maintenance Manager will schedule, coordinate, lead and direct all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements of a Gravity Casting, High Pressure, Machining and Melting furnaces facility. This role must manage all building/facilities, equipment and machinery. This is a hands-on working manager position. Successful candidates must be able to prioritize resources to meet production demands while minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, a deep understanding of die casting processes, and excellent leadership skills to drive a team of technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development, assist in making employment decisions, and resolves employee’s issues using a variety of problem resolutions techniques
Ensure full compliance with shop health and safety policies and performs accident investigations
Cross-train employees to ensure production requirements can be met every day. This includes establishing and executing a manageable job rotation schedule for all reports
Be visible on the production floor, to assist the production floor • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Ability to create and maintain budget
Maintaining and improving the integrity of production and quality systems through the machines, equipment, processes, and employees that add business value to an organization. The plant’s preventive and predictive maintenance programs in order to minimize production loss and unscheduled down time. (TPM) Conducting regular inspections and audits for ensuring optimal upkeep of facilities
Keeping record of equipment failure and providing timely information to management
Ensuring breakdowns are analyzed and actions are taken at root cause level for eliminating recurrence of problems
Ensuring vendor maintenance and repair manuals are up to date and in order
Establishing a good spare part management system
Reducing the losses and continually upgrading the equipment’s for improving availability of equipment
Reducing Repairs and maintenance expenses
Achieving timely execution of projects as per planned time frame
Achieving power cost reduction
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements PCB, EB, Explosives
Ensure compliance with OSHA and NIOSH standards and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
7 to 10 years previous Die Cast Maintenance Management experience
15 years of die casting experience
Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions and components

Leadership:

demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
Communicates effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations w only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and Quality, and other co-workers to leverage their expertise to solve complex problems
Must be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks within constraints of the position
Must be hands-on and have a personal drive to succeed
Able to handle conflict resolution and other employee complaints in a timely and professional manner
A Self- Starter with ability to work independently in fast paced deadline orientated environment and to establish strong team relationships
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, daily overtime and off shifts as needed
Ability to create and maintain budget
Ability to understand P&L and drive decisions to make corrections to meet or exceed expected results in safety, quality and delivery
Must have been working in high volume production environment
Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shift long term.

Exposure to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and TQM (Total Quality management) and continuous improvement environment will be an added advantage.
