POSITION SUMMARY
Supervise and perform wide variety of commercial building maintenance with efficiency and safety consciousness.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise personnel
Implement organized maintenance program
Perform mechanical work as time permits
Implement management policies and procedures
Set example for safety, pace, and conscientiousness in the work place
Coordinate as needed with outside contractors
Evaluate building conditions and make recommendations to management for upkeep/replacement
Maintain campus housing
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Wide variety of building maintenance experience
Supervisory experience helpful
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good management skills including organizing and scheduling
Good analytical and mathematical skills
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Self-motivated and ability to motivate others
Call-in duty required and overtime as necessary
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Drive motorized vehicles
Work above floor level
Work outdoors in varying weather
Work around machines
Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
Exposed to marked changes in temperature
Possible repetitive hand movements (fine grasp, fine manipulation, grasp and pull)
Frequent head and neck rotations
Must be capable of wearing a full body harness for working at heights and in confined spaces; and under certain situations may be required to wear a respirator.
