Job Description
- Monitor and track trailers in need of repairs preventing their usage
- Develop and maintain a schedule to complete regular inspections and repairs needed
- Manage annual DOT inspections on trailers to keep current
- Identify and stock all needed tools and supplies for efficient repairs
- Work along side trailer technicians during peak demands and tight timelines to keep load deliveries on schedule
- Identify when a repair needs to be performed by an outside service provider
- Assist with inspecting trailers being considered for purchase
- Keep any vehicles in the department maintained and in good working order
- Evaluate trailer technician training/development required
- Work with Transportation Supervisor/Manager to track trailer repairs performed
- Drive safe work practices
- Adhere to environmental and stormwater pollution prevention policies
- Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
