Maintenance Supervisor Teijin Carbon America, Inc. Greenwood, SC 29649
Job Summary:
Competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter and the functional area of assignments, supervises engineers and technicians who perform a variety of engineering and maintenance tasks in designing, planning, and/or managing the manufacturing, construction, installation and maintenance of equipment, systems, facilities and machinery used in manufacturing process. Provide technical support to meet factory/site goals and improve the operations by implementing new ideas, methods, and technology, through a combination of projects, investigations, and troubleshooting and ensures that process requirements are met and validated. Develops and manages expense and capital budgets. Participates in and leads cross-functional teams to develop and complete process improvement projects. May exercise extensive oversight of contract personnel engaged in construction, maintenance and improving equipment for manufacturing processes. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met.

Leadership:
Composes measurable goals and objectives that have significant impact on departmental operations. Leads Associates to achieve company, plant, and team goals and objectives. Monitors team progress and calculate team and individual Associate productivity, creates action plans, and provides coaching and feedback. Creates an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect to activate continuous improvement processes. Builds rapport and resolves Associate conflicts to advocate effective teams through listening and coaching skills. Expedites information to Associates regarding procedure, policy changes, technology and corporate philosophy. Formulates training needs of staff to expand problem-solving, decision-making techniques and develop individual job skills. Conducts supervisory human resource activities such as interviewing, counseling, performance assessments, career development, etc. Responsible for Associates’ adherence to all Local, State and Federal Regulations, and Company Policies, to include Code of Conduct, Safety and Human Resource Policies. Creates a positive attitude and encourages Associate self-confidence to enable them to reach their maximum ability. 2. Develops maintenance/engineering systems that support manufacturing goals and objectives. These systems involve conventional and/or complex problems solving techniques and engineering practices to include conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Ensures all equipment and projects comply with OSHA standards, government regulations and specifications and ensures that process requirements are met and validated. Develops and manages project budgets and adheres to projects schedules and budgets. Provides technical advice and support; reviews and approves plans, designs, schedules etc. 3. Effectively work with others within the team to achieve team goals. Effectively communicates with co-workers and Manager. Prepares daily work schedules for direct reports and contractors in their immediate area of responsibility. Monitors daily workload and provides support to immediate reports as needed to ensure equipment reliability is meeting or exceeding customers’ expectations. Follows Teijin’s Employee Code of Conduct Policy and maintains and adheres to Teijin’s Safety Policies and Procedures. 4. Other duties identified by the Maintenance Manager. Qualifications & Skills 1.
Education:
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience 2.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a maintenance operations environment 3.
Professional license or certification:
None 4. Specific skills, knowledge and abilities: Working knowledge for software typically used in manufacturing and engineering operations Demonstrates ability to identify problems and determine their cause and effect Manages multiple projects/tasks simultaneously Apply quality improvement techniques in daily work Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of engineering and maintenance practices Capable of implementing new technologies, methods, and concepts in a manufacturing environment Demonstrates an understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices Capable of assigning the appropriate priority to work requests in alignment with departmental and site wide goals and objectives Demonstrates an understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements

Full-time Pay:
$90,000.00 – $92,000.00 per year
