Job Summary:

The Utility Superintendent is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and long-term planning of utility systems. This includes supervising personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing budgets, and coordinating infrastructure repairs or improvements. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems ( water, sewer, and storm drain ). Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards. Supervise utility staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and recommend cost-saving measures. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies on utility projects and infrastructure improvements. Monitor system performance and conduct inspections to ensure reliability and efficiency. Develop and implement emergency response plans for utility service disruptions. Oversee customer service and address utility-related complaints or service requests. Stay up to date with industry advancements, new technology, and regulatory changes.
