Purpose The City of Savannah is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Parking Meter Technician to join our Parking Services team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the functionality, reliability, and accuracy of parking meters throughout the city. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of parking meter equipment to ensure optimal performance and support the city’s parking management operations. Accepting Applications May 21st ONLY Essential Job Functions Installs meter poles, parking meters, signs, and signposts; paints lines for parking spaces. Collects and counts monies from parking meters and pay stations. Maintains and repairs tools. Repairs and/or replaces meters and pay stations. Welds meter poles and signposts. Installs, removes, and relocates bike racks. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED, with one year of mechanical repair or parking meter installation and repair, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history. Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. Additional Information Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of parking meters and pay stations.
Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.
Skill in the operation of hand and power tools.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include the department and city policy and procedures, manufacturers’ parts and repair manuals, and relevant city ordinances. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY
The work consists of related supervisor and technical repair and maintenance duties.
SCOPE AND EFFECT
The purpose of this position is to participate in the repair and maintenance of parking meters. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency of revenue collection activities.
