Meter Reading Technician Bedford County Utility District Shelbyville, TN 37160
Responsibilities:
Reading and Recording Utility Meters:
The primary task is to accurately read and record the readings on meters, typically for gas and water service.
Data Entry:
Entering the collected data into the company’s database to facilitate accurate billing.
Route Management:
Driving along pre-determined routes to collect readings from various locations.
Meter Inspection:
Checking meters for functionality and potential issues like damage or unauthorized connections.
Reporting and Record Keeping:
Preparing reports on visited addresses, observed issues, and any other relevant details.
Customer Interaction:
Interacting with customers to gain access to meters and address inquiries or concerns.
Installation and Disconnection:
Installing and changing meters at service locations.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
May be responsible for basic troubleshooting and repair of meters.
