Facilities Mechanic (Multicraft – Electrical/Mechanical) Job Summary The Facilities Mechanic ensures the continuous operation of machinery and mechanical systems by performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor belts, and production equipment. This includes following electrical and mechanical diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications. Essential Job Functions + Perform regular maintenance on injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, and plant facilities. + Disassemble and clean parts of injection molding machines for repairs. + Assist in the installation of new molding machines. + Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production equipment. + Demonstrate expert mechanical knowledge and proficiency. + Utilize strong problem-solving abilities and root cause analysis techniques. + Work independently with minimal supervision. + Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. + Perform preventative maintenance to ensure smooth and optimal operation of injection molding manufacturing equipment. + Interpret technical documents, including manuals, blueprints, and schematics. + Operate shop equipment such as drill presses, grinders, acetylene torch rigs, and welding tools. + Perform physical tasks, including walking, kneeling, bending, standing, and climbing stairs, as well as using ladders and scaffolding. + Familiarity with low-voltage circuitry and PLC controls is a plus. + Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus. + Carpentry skills are an advantage. + Experience in molding is a plus. Experience + Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience required. + Electrical and hydraulic experience preferred. + Plastic injection molding experience preferred. Required Education + High School Diploma or GED required. + Vocational training in maintenance mechanics or a technical trade certificate is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Proficient in working with both AC and DC electricity. + Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills. + Ability to interpret electrical schematics for problem-solving. + Able to read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and address issues in these systems. + Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial equipment certification. Physical Demands + Ability to lift and carry up to and above 40 pounds. + Capable of using ladders and scaffolds. + Able to work at heights and in various weather conditions. + Frequent standing, walking, stretching, reaching, bending, and stooping required.
