In this hands-on role, you’ll install and commission machinery—adjusting settings like temperature, pressure, and flow rate for safe, efficient operation. You’ll also assist with pipe installation, form carpentry and concrete work as needed, contributing to high-quality, self-perform construction. Key Responsibilities Install complex treatment plant process equipment, such as pumps, clarifiers, centrifuges, silos, blowers, tanks, pressure filters, and piping systems. Unload, transport, rig, and assemble equipment with precision and care. Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, instruction manuals, and equipment charts. Configure and adjust process equipment settings to meet operational requirements. Assist in equipment startup and commissioning activities. Perform repairs and part replacements; use welding and fabrication tools when necessary. Collect and organize spare parts and components. Support form carpentry and concrete work when needed as part of our self-perform team. Maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures (including DWP and MTA standards). Work as a team member under the guidance of a Crew Chief and/or Superintendent. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of millwright, equipment installation, and/or in combination with process pipe setting. Hands-on experience with mechanical and process equipment in an industrial or treatment plant setting. Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, mechanical plans, and assembly documents. Strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to safety and problem-solving. Willingness to travel and work outdoors in a variety of weather and job site conditions. Physically able to work outdoors in various weather and perform demanding tasks Benefits and Perks Rates starting at $28/hour for qualified applicants, based on experience and skills.
