Position Summary :
The Automation Technician will play a key role in designing, fabricating, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation systems. This role requires a hands-on approach, creative problem-solving abilities, and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities :
Analyze mechanical systems and identify opportunities for automation improvements. Design, fabricate, and assemble jigs and custom components for automation processes. Collaborate on the creation and implementation of new automation ideas. Read and interpret electrical schematics for wiring and component layout. Run wires, terminate connections, and ensure proper electrical installations. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on automated systems. Work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to improve system performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and deconstruct mechanical systems. Fabrication skills, including welding, cutting, and assembly. Basic electrical knowledge, including reading schematics and performing wire terminations. Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems effectively. Good communication and teamwork skills. Not required but a definite plus if you have : Experience with CAD software.
