Millwright/Rigging Superintendent Location:

Davidson, NC (up to 3 hour travel radius as needed)

Position Summary:

The Millwright/Rigging Superintendent will assist the Project Management and Safety Teams in managing safety, work quality, equipment use, and productivity. It will support field crews to ensure successful project execution. Focus on reducing variation in field operations and implementing best practices. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety rules for employees, vendors, and subcontractors. Support daily safety operations and enforce corrective actions when needed. Advise and document safety violations by other trades; escalate to clients if unresolved. Troubleshoot job-site issues to maintain safety, schedules, and customer satisfaction. Report safety concerns to the Superintendent and assist with improved safety procedures. Operations Assist in planning materials, equipment, manpower, and schedules. Support Foremen with contract reviews and project planning. Attend project handoff meetings and identify any contract issues. Conduct site inspections and report findings to leadership. Ensure safe and proper use of equipment and handling of materials. Staffing Ensure the right personnel are available to meet budget and schedule goals. Assist with hiring local workers if necessary. Recommend personnel decisions regarding pay, promotions, and terminations. Support employee morale and development. Constructing Assist with project activities to ensure safe and timely completion. Perform Superintendent duties related to field operations. Safety Control Maintain compliance with OSHA and all project-specific safety regulations. Quality Control Maintain high-quality standards on all projects. Understand client quality expectations and contract requirements. Production Control Monitor worker productivity and equipment/material efficiency. Communicate production challenges and needs to Project Management. Cost Control Identify material, labor, or equipment cost issues and suggest corrective actions. Recommend ways to reduce project costs. Innovation Encourage the development and sharing of new best practices and lessons learned. Training Mentor Foremen and suggest training opportunities. Identify and support development of promising personnel. Checking/Evaluating Evaluate team and individual performance, morale, safety compliance, and work quality. Monitor overall project progress and subcontractor performance. Reporting Provide daily updates to Project Management and leadership. Communicate site evaluations and equipment conditions. Improving Identify and implement methods to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Document and share successful best practices. Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in construction or related field preferred. Vocational/technical training or experience required. Five years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Supervise crews and safely install equipment. Plan and schedule tasks and teams. Analyze blueprints and construction documents. Accurately measure and calculate materials. Solve problems and communicate effectively. Develop safety and work plans. Maintain focus on safety, quality, production, and innovation.
