GENERAL MECHANIC – BLACK SEAL BOILEROPERATOR RESPONSIBILTIES
Responsible for performing all functionsnecessary for plant maintenance in support of the overall siteoperations. Performs a variety of tasks including preventive,scheduled, and emergency mechanical maintenance and is amulti-craft mechanic with an emphasis on rotating equipment. Ensureworkplace safety by participating in the Behavior Based SafetyObservations while practicing and following all site safetypolicies, guidelines, and procedures. Complies with all GoodManufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures.
Provides maintenance to plant utilities, equipment and rotatingequipment repairs including American National Standards Institute,ANSI pump repair, mechanical seal installation/trouble shooting,alignment methods, bearing fits/tolerances and automation equipmenttrouble shooting and repair. Performs centrifugal pump repairinclusive of mechanical seal installation and other rotatingequipment repair involving gear reduction drives, agitators andblowers. Executes additional general maintenance and repair dutiesincluding industrial pipe fitting (PVC and black iron), heatexchanger repair, rigging/crane use, etc. Identifies, diagnoses,and communicates issues that arise with equipment. Completespreventative maintenance duties and records critical informationappropriately. Maintains outstanding housekeeping and 5S. Performsdaily activities independently with minimal supervision or morecomplex projects with a team such as other maintenance personnel orSite Engineers while still maintaining communication with keystakeholders. Performs daily activities independently with minimalsupervision or more complex projects with a team such as othermaintenance personnel or Site Engineers while still maintainingcommunication with key stakeholders. Complies with company Health,Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements.
Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents,and near misses promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma orequivalent required. Minimum two (2) years of related industrialmaintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required,chemical manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with Boilermaintenance and repair required, Black Seal Boiler Operatorexperience required, Boiler Operator’s license strong plus. Pipingexperience and the ability to lay out and install PVC and blackiron piping. Pump experience and the ability to rebuildcentrifugal, lobe and air pumps. Overall plant knowledge ofequipment designations and systems. Demonstrated knowledge ofrotating equipment repairs, specifically American NationalStandards Institute, (ANSI) pump repair, mechanical sealinstallation/trouble shooting, alignment methods, bearingfits/tolerances, etc. Ability to utilize dial indicators, calipersand other measuring tools. Demonstrated knowledge of welded repairtechniques for both structural and pipe materials. Proficiency withComputerized Maintenance Management System CMMS for creating andcompleting work orders. Experience wearing required personalprotective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hard hat,steel toe shoes, gloves and a respirator. Excellent understandingof safety practices, specifically lockout tagout (LO/TO), JobSafety Analysis, (JSA) and best practices for maintenance tasks.
Willingness to work a non-standard shift, weekends, and/orovertime, as required Completion of an apprenticeship program astrong plus LI-JJ1
