are seeking motivated and mechanically inclined Apprentice Millwrights with welding experience to join our maintenance team in Arkansas on an on-call as needed basis. This hands-on apprenticeship is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in mechanical systems, machinery installation, and fabrication. You’ll assist in maintaining, assembling, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial equipment, while also applying your welding skills in various repair and fabrication tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery. Use hand and power tools to disassemble and reassemble machinery. Perform basic welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, for fabrication and equipment repair. Align and level machinery using precision tools. Maintain clean and organized work areas; follow health and safety standards at all times. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals. Support senior millwrights and maintenance technicians with daily tasks and special projects.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Enrolled in or eligible for a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program. Prior welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick) is preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial environments, including confined spaces or heights. Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Assets:
Welding certification (CWB or equivalent) is a strong asset. Forklift or scissor lift certification. Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial maintenance setting.
