The role of the Roll Shop Tech is to meet and exceed all safety and housekeeping expectations. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to meeting and exceeding all safety and housekeeping expectations; safely operate roll shop equipment; assisting in maintenance and repairs of rolls, chocks, bearings and all roll shop equipment; performing measurement tasks related to the area equipment; chocking and de-chocking rolls; calculating mill pass line; building shim packs; participating in all training and developmental programs; and maintaining detailed and accurate records of equipment specs and roll shop operations. While the schedule will initially be for days, this may change at some point to become a rotating shift. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site within our Quality Control System.
