POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician II to join our fast-growing STR MechanicalTeam. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as an active EPA Certification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in commercial refrigeration systems and components, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and electrical controls Perform maintenance and service repairs on ice machine/cooler/freezer and other refrigerated systems (Superheat/Subcooling/Delta T) Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for customers Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues, recommended repairs, and maintenance procedures Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques Ensure team adherence to quality standards and project timelines Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position reports to the local Branch Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers. Valid Driver License w/acceptable driving record Active EPA Certification 5+ years’ of experience in a commercial HVAC setting OSHA 10 certification Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks. Help take lead over and teach helpers and tech I’s. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
