Description Job Summary:
Alliance Group is seeking an experienced technician to join our Industrial Combustion department. This individual will be responsible for maintaining commercial and industrial fuel fired appliances for our clients. We regularly work on low and medium pressure steam systems and boilers, and service some of the most advanced burners in the industry. The facilities we serve rely on us to keep their equipment maintained to the highest standards, they rely on our expertise to ensure their systems are functioning efficiently and safely. You will be working directly with our customers on their systems and must have the ability to communicate accurate information. This ensures problems are addressed correctly and systems kept online and functioning. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of all aspects of our industry. Gas and fuel regulation, pipefitting, electrical controls and troubleshooting skills are a must. They must possess a strong mechanical background and a broad understanding of materials that would be regularly encountered in the trade. We are constantly taking on new jobs and clients, the position is extremely dynamic. An ability to maintain mental clarity while under pressure is important, every system we work on has its own unique operating characteristic. The right candidate can quickly assess key operating and control measures that are in place for a given system. Key Responsibilities High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity. Maintain advanced combustion and steam systems according to manufacturer specifications. Troubleshoot and diagnose advanced burner controls. Troubleshoot and diagnose fuel oil and gas trains. Communicate effectively, directly with coworkers and clientele. Navigate a dynamic range of equipment and mechanical systems. A high degree of patience is important. We ourselves are continuously learning and training the next generation of technicians. Ability and willingness to work independently with manufacturers’ technical support to solve problems. Essential Qualifications and Competencies High school diploma or GED required 6 years licensed experience with Natural Gas and or LP Gas systems 6 years licensed experience with Fuel oil systems Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting steam boilers and related equipment. Strong general mechanical understanding and comprehension. Strong understanding of hydronic systems, regulation and controls. 4 Years Pipefitting experience required, welding is a plus. Ability to read complex electric schematics and diagrams Electrical S license is desired but not required. Effective professional communication is a must, both written and oral. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards required. Experience / knowledge of the HVAC industry is highly desired. Ability to work efficiently and identify inefficiencies in work processes. Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Must maintain a company vehicle. Must maintain a professional appearance. Must be willing and able to work in occasional inclement weather. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis Must be able to climb up and down Scaffolding, Ladders, Stairs as job requires. Ability to multitask is critical. Very strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Strong competency in data entry management and integrity. Self-starter with a high level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity. Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills with a “can do” attitude. Travel is to be expected in this position, our department provides service primarily in VT, but we travel to NY and NH as necessary to support our clients and coworkers. U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license. A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required.
